Spencer at Three

Spencer is Carter’s oldest friend and the first baby we ever hung out with! The two had their first lunch date at only three weeks old and mommy Shari and I became fast friends. If you have been reading this blog over the last few years you have seen Spencer (and more recently his twin brothers) pop up here and there. When our boys turned three (only two days apart) I promised Shari I would take some portraits of them to document this special milestone. Carter was anything less than cooperative, but thankfully Spencer was in a great mood the evening we met up and we definitely got some winners!

It had been nearly two years since I took family photos for the Reeders and we were well overdue to update the ones I had taken for them before. They had added another little boy into the family and I was so glad to be able to capture some special moments for them. We had an absolutely perfect evening and everyone was primed and ready for their close ups ;) I waited a long time to post these because Katie was going to blow up a few to give to Dan for Father’s Day. I love how they turned out and hopefully we can go again this fall when baby Camp turns one! This family is so special to me and I am thankful that God had our paths cross again later in life so our babies could grow up side by side!

Images for a Cure

When my neighbor Emily of Lulu Photos posted about doing a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, I knew we wanted to participate. Then when I found out it was at a nearby outdoor studio that I had been dying to see I was sold! One hundred percent of the proceeds went towards Images for a Cure and I am so happy we got some cute pictures of the boys and were able to help a good cause all at the same time. Linc and I stayed on the sidelines for this photo shoot and I’m thankful Emily was able to capture some precious pictures of our little men!

Father’s Day Collages

This year the Baby Brigade came over and we continued our annual tradition of D-A-D photos for Father’s Day! Unfortunately Nolan was overstimulated and totally over it by the time his turn came so it was a big FAIL for us that day. Thankfully Krissy left the letters with me and we were able to try again!

Memorial Day

We decided to stay home for Memorial Day weekend because the month of May had been so busy for our little family. It worked out because I was a little under the weather anyway and not really up for travelling. This was the first time in four years Linc took this day off from work and we made the most of it by joining the Gordons and Reeders for a little pool party! We could not have asked for a prettier day and even though the water was a bit chilly, it was such a great way to end the weekend. We had a yummy picnic poolside while the boys played and soaked up the sun.

Swim School

 

Carter and his buddy Nicholas started swim lessons at the Aquatic Center near our house. Despite being a water baby, Carter is still quite anxious in the pool and I knew he needed as much practice as possible before the summer really takes off. I’m glad he has a friend in the class and even though both boys were a bit nervous, it was adorable to watch. Their teacher is fabulous and hopefully will have them both loving the pool in no time!

 

This is the part of class where the teacher spins the kids around and then dunks them. I guess knowing how timid C was she decided it would be a good idea not to submerge him. She told him next class he had to go under so we will keep talking it up and hopefully he won’t totally freak out when it happens!!

Nolan- 6 Months Old

Our sweet gigantic little peanut turned six months old the weekend of Mother’s Day. It was the most perfect day and my boys were on their best behavior. That evening we went to dinner at my parent’s house to celebrate Hattie’s birthday and did a photo shoot in their backyard to commemorate N’s special milestone.

I love you sweet Nolan. You are becoming such a happy, smiley little man and we are forever grateful that you have completed our family. Watching you and Carter grow up side by side is my greatest honor. Your first six months were pretty tough but things are slowly getting easier and I am learning every day how to mother two very different and needy boys! Thank you for being patient when your older brother is demanding all my attention and flashing me your mega watt smile every time I am having a rough day. You are precious beyond belief and will always be my favorite littlest baby ;) oxoxxo
