Carter Goes Sailing

Wednesday night we went on a sunset sailboat ~~booze~~ cruise around Newport! Kathryn and Ryan invited both sides of the family so we could celebrate their upcoming wedding together.

Our first full day in Newport we drove to have lunch at Castle Hill. It is an inn located on it's own 40 acre peninsula just off of the famous Ocean Drive. The views were amazing, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed spending time with our extended family.

Carter's First Plane Ride

This past week we packed our bags and headed to Newport, Rhode Island for my cousin Kathryn's wedding. It was Carter's first time on an airplane and of course we had to document every bit! I have over 500 pictures to sort through from the trip but figured I would start with a post about flying.

Carter was great on the plane on the way there. He ate as we were taking off and then went right into a long nap! He was quiet enough that even I fell asleep during the two hour flight. On the way back we were not so lucky. The plane took forever to take off so he had already finished eating before we were in the air. He was not interested in taking his paci at all so his ears must have popped on the way up. The poor guy cried on and off for the whole flight and only slept for about thirty minutes. It was tough, but we finally landed and all was forgotten!

Sunbathing

Carter and I love going to the pool with our friends! I even got him his own pair of baby sized sunglasses so he can hang out and enjoy the scenery. On this particular day, after swimming for about an hour, I let Carter air dry before we headed home...and then of course I couldn't help but take a few pictures of his little tush!!

Baby Brigade Comes to Play

Carter and I hosted our Thursday baby group last week and welcomed all the babies into our house to play and have fun. We learned some new songs, played with our friends, and enjoyed the air conditioning!! We were supposed to go to the pool afterward, but ate our picnic lunch in the loft instead!

Water Babies

We usually go walking on Tuesdays with our play group but because it's getting a little too hot out we decided to trade in our walking shoes for bathing suits! Last week, the Baby Brigade hit the pool and enjoyed a lazy morning of swimming at Krissy and Nicholas' house. Special thanks to Shari and Spencer for letting us borrow a swim shirt since we were waiting on C's wetsuit to arrive!
