…and other random shenanigans. Apparently I took only a handful of pictures at the twin’s birthday party. Elmo came out to visit and that was the highlight of C’s day! I was so surprised he wasn’t scared of the big red guy.

* Will Travel for Hugs
I love this girl {My Twinny} so very much!
After seeing my girlfriend Courtney halfway, Candace and I decided we needed to do that too!! There wasn’t an exciting museum in the middle but we met for lunch and an afternoon of shopping. We didn’t even care if the kids had fun because it was just so nice to see each other and get in a good hug!

* A Day in Chattanooga
My dear friend Courtney lives in Nashville and when we finally figured out that Chattanooga was right in the middle, we loaded up our kiddos for a road trip!! Not even sure how it’s possible that we arrived within minutes of each other despite random stops along the road for both of us during the two hour trek! Courtney has two girls (and now a sweet baby boy) and we hadn’t seen them in years! We toured the Chattanooga Aquarium, went out to lunch, rode the carousel, and walked across the big bridge to take in the sights. It was such a fun way to spend time with my oldest friend and I can’t wait to do it again soon!
Friends for 17 years!!!!
Love these girlies!! Leighton, Brooke, & mama Courtney

* A Heavenly Birthday
On April 8th we joined our friends Mark and Brittani and their son Ryland to celebrate their daughter Aubriella’s first birthday. Aubriella was born an angel the year before. It was an incredibly traumatic time in their lives but they knew they wanted to do something special to acknowledge Aubriella turning one up in Heaven. It was a lovely ceremony with a butterfly and balloon release, Bible verse reading, and a presentation of a scrapbook with letters from everyone who had been touched by their story. Brittani is so incredibly strong and has shown the most amazing poise and grace throughout this past year. Her reliance on the Lord and trust in His plan is unwavering and she is an inspiration to all.
How fitting that her name means “Strength from God”
But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Luke 18:16

* Buzzed Boys
I think one of the worst decisions I ever made was to give the boys buzz cuts haha They have such lovely hair but it was getting hot and instead of going to the barber I let my friend Brittani use her clippers on them. I cried when she was finished. Lesson learned!!!

* Touch a Truck
Forsyth County hosted a Touch a Truck event in early April. Kids got to ride a fire truck, sit inside the police cars, investigate a SWAT mobile, and see all kinds of hero trucks in action!
