Telling our family the BIG news

Our gorgeous girl found her forever home. I have never cried more but we knew moving her to Amsterdam with her medical issues would be too overwhelming. She was the best foster and the only one I envisioned joining our family forever, but I know she will live an incredible life and be so happy with her new mom!

Time to get serious about listing the house and finally do all the projects I had put off for three years. Such a shame we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the changes but we knew a little updating would make this house sell fast!

The Day We Decided to Move

Well, the real reason for our spring break trip to Amsterdam came to light a few weeks after we returned. We weren’t just visiting for pleasure, we had gone there to see whether I could envision moving our family across the ocean for a fresh start and a new life. An opportunity to start a European branch of Blue Mammoth Games was presented and after our vacation we decided to move forward with it. We would need to tell all our family and friends, list our house, and pack up 27 years of stuff! It was so hard telling everyone (especially my Baby Brigade girls), but I just continued to pray for peace and to know in my heart that this was the right decision for our family. Every step of the way I felt God calming my anxieties and making me feel confident about this move. It was just a regular day in the suburbs when we decided to change our lives forever!

It’s like she knew we were leaving…my poor sweet girlie. I will miss her so much!

We joined the Vickers at Mellow Mushroom for dinner and then went to a gorgeous Easter service at Northpoint Community Church. We ended the night by joining in a neighborhood kickball game!

Running Club

My baby Bex spent the next few days glued to my hip! She was so glad we were home and we sure did miss her sweet little purrs!

Carter’s tennis coach suggested we try a running club to help our boy learn how to move properly. He had great strokes but wouldn’t move around the court. We found a great club right nearby that started up right after spring break. They met every Tuesday and played games and practiced technique. At the end the goal was to be able to run a mile! It was pretty hot but I was proud of Carter for trying his best!

Goodbye Amsterdam!

Back to the US with an amazing appreciation for the Netherlands and we’ve been bitten by the travel bug!
