When Life Changes in an Instant

While the Baby Brigade was enjoying a wild day at the lake, our fun came to an abrupt halt when one of our members got a shocking phone call. Kasey's father in law had been attending the Braves game and somehow fell out of the stands and to his death. This news came right in the middle of our dance party and I don't think you have ever seen a group sober up faster. We immediately started to pray and scrambled to get Kasey packed and a safe ride home. Without anything left to do to help, the rest of the group wandered off to bed. We woke up the next morning and headed straight home, everyone remarking what a wild turn of events that night had brought. We were heartbroken for our friend and her family and no one had it in them to continue the celebration. It was a harsh reminder how quickly life can change.

We decided to do a "My Favorite Things" swag bag and walked away with some really fun stuff! My contribution this year was mascara and mini bottle of champagne. We spent the day out on the water and then donned our matching shirts and yoga pants for an epic dance party!

Even though the bus stop is only down the street, Carter and I quickly realized we could get an extra 45 minutes of sleep if I drove him to school! That worked much better for both of us!

As September loomed in the distance, sweet friends Tam and Dina sent little reminders so I would know they are always thinking of me and my precious mama.

I found the little ceramic bunny buried in the yard and Dina added the tall one to remind me to stop and look for signs of my mom in nature. She is always with me <3 nbsp="" p="">

Nolan's First Day of Preschool

Nolan started at PPP&K and was excited to go! He needed double Superman Imagenix guys to carry with him but happily went into his classroom with Miss Julie and painted and played the day away! Mommy had a special pedicure treat with Anita and before she knew it, it was time to pick him up! An extra special lolly for the ride home and this bubs was beat!

School Projects and Sprained Ankles

Lincoln was in the middle of a basketball game with some neighbors when he came down a little too hard on his ankle and fell to the ground. We called Matt and Becky to come over and watch the boys and we rushed to the emergency room. It was a pretty quick ER visit and we came away with some crutches and a boot. Lincoln would need to wear it for a few weeks! Thankfully the damage wasn't worse and I don't think we will be seeing any basketball games in the future.

Preschool Preview

A few weeks after Carter started school, it was time for Nolan to meet his teachers! Miss Julie and Miss Gill came highly praised and he was very excited to meet them. We love PPP&K and knew he would have a wonderful year with these great teachers!
