One of the most exciting things in basisschool is when Sinterklaas comes to visit! He is only in the country for a few weeks and on Pakjesavond, returns to Spain with his Piets and horse Amerigo! I love how the school celebrated this special day and all the kids were on the schoolplein to sing and welcome Sint! This is really the kick off to the holiday season in Holland and definitely looking forward to the cheer and magic that December brings. We are learning as we go, so this year the boys got some pepernoten, chocolate letters, and a few trinkets after leaving their shoes out.
Can't welcome Sint without an Amerigo hat!
