Thanksgiving 2012

November 22, 2012

We went to my aunt and uncle’s house for Thanksgiving this year and even though it was a low key celebration, it was so special that we could all be together! We were extra thankful that Nolan had arrived safe and sound and was able to share in his first holiday! I was off the hook with cooking this time around but all the food was amazing! Fried pickles, cheese rolls, my favorite casseroles, and of course turkey! Alex made some amazing desserts too and after hours of football and stuffing our bellies, my little family headed home to tuck in for the night. Pardon the photo overload below!

Thankful

I may always be behind in posting now that two sweet babies demand my attention, but the blog must go on! It’s only fair to Nolan that I attempt to document the beginning of his life as well as I did his older brother’s. So far I’m failing miserably, but trying nonetheless! These photos are from Nolan’s tenth day of life on November 21 (Thanksgiving Eve). It was our first excursion down to Hattie & Poppy’s house since Nolan’s arrival and we joined the whole family for dinner! Grammy, Kristin, Nathan, and Ryan were all in town for the holidays and Aunt Cindy and Uncle Greg came over in the evening for a yummy lasagna meal! It was fun to think back and remember we did the same thing on Carter’s tenth day! Now if only I’d remembered the duck jammies ;)

My biggest bubs was recovering from croup and not feeling well all day. We excused him from the dinner table and next thing you know he was passed out on the floor in the living room. Poor baby went to bed with a 103 fever, lots of Tylenol, and his humidifier running full blast. Thankfully the next morning he was in great spirits, and even though he was still running warm, he was acting like his old self!

Baby Twins?

brothers

There is no denying that Carter and Nolan are brothers, but sometimes I would swear they could have been twins! One of the first things I said in the delivery room was remarking how similar the boys looked at birth! Seeing Nolan transports me back in time to nearly three years ago when Carter arrived. I look down and see so much of his older brother in Nolan’s features that in my sleep deprived/delirious state I could almost forget which baby I am nursing! Now, of course they are not identical so it will be really neat to watch as Nolan grows and changes. Will he have Carter’s thick and unruly hair? Will they share the same shade of blue eyes as daddy? Time will tell!

Newborn Sneak Peeks

My very good friend Lauren took Nolan’s newborn photos when he was just four days old! He was the most perfect little angel and slept almost the entire three + hours we were there! He loved being posed and curled right into position each time she moved him. I love that we were able to go to her house where Carter could play with his buddy Cullen and stay occupied while Lauren captured these precious images of our newest little Hamilton. I am so grateful to her for these images and can’t wait to get them printed out and hung up around his room! This is just a handful from her website, enjoy!!
