On Jack and Andrea’s last night in Amsterdam we went to the Five Flies which is an amazing Dutch restaurant. We had a six course dinner with six wine pairings and it made for an incredibly weepy and tearful goodbye at the end of the night. We will miss our friends so much!

The palace was the summer residence of Dutch stadholders and kings from 1686 to 1975 . It was last inhabited by Princess Margriet. From 1977 to 1984 the entire palace underwent extensive renovations and was restored back to it’s 18th century glory!
The gorgeous canal house of Willet-Holthuysen was built in 1685! The Van Loon house belonged to the creator of the Dutch East India Company and was built in 1672. They were both stunning examples of Dutch architecture and it was so fun to envision what life might have been like back then.
What better way to end the day than with poffertjes and prosecco!

Andrea and I spent the day at the Rijksmuseum checking out all the exhibits.
Every year my friend Andrea’s husband comes to Amsterdam for a business conference. How lucky that she was able to join him this time and come visit me!!!! I have missed her so much and it is great to get some familiar hugs.
Perfect timing! My new mamafiets is ready just in time to take Andrea around the town.
