Pictures At the Cabin
There is a little cabin at the back of my father in law's farm that has been there since the early 1800s. It has the most amazing view of the cow pastures and a little pond. We took a drive out there in the afternoon to take a few more pictures of my sweet little boy and I am so pleased with how they turned out! He is so patient while I practice with this new camera!

NYE at the Farm/ What's in the Bag?
The camera itself is a Canon EOS 60D with a Canon EF 50mm F1.8II lens. It is a fixed telephoto portrait lens which means there is no manual zoom feature. It produces pictures that are really close to what your eye is actually seeing. I was also lucky enough to receive the same brand of camera as my mom's old 35mm so I inherited her lenses which are still compatible. This includes a Quantaray 70-300mm (telephoto zoom) lens and a 77mm (wide angle) lens. I am thrilled with this camera so far and read the book cover to cover the first night I had it! My tiny digital camera was fine but it was having a hard time keeping up with Carter as he becomes more mobile. I am really pleased with the quality of the photos and hope you will enjoy this week of posts as I show off what we've been up to! Any critiques or suggestions are welcome because I still have a lot to learn!Sunday, January 2, 2011

Happy New Year!
These pictures were taken during Christmas when I was practicing with my new camera but since we are busy ringing in the New Year with family, I thought I would share! I can’t even imagine how this next year could top the last but there are so many things to look forward to! Most importantly, Carter (and all of the Baby Brigade) will be turning one and we’re also looking forward to meeting baby Morgan.
My Happy New Year wish for you
Is for your best year yet,
A year where life is peaceful,
And what you want, you get.
A year in which you cherish
The past year’s memories,
And live your life each new day,
Full of bright expectancies.
I wish for you a holiday
With happiness galore;
And when it’s done, I wish you
Happy New Year, and many more.
